First delivered to Salt Lake City this 220S stayed there for most of it's life. The original owner kept and pampered it for many decades. We found a nice hand book were he not only wrote down what was done to the car but also the outside temperature every time he filled up the car. We even found notes from somebody who had tried for nearly 30 years to buy this car from the owner.

When we got the car the bumpers had some minor dents in them. To do the beautiful appearance of the car justice we decided to have them re-chromed. At that time we noticed that both of them have the the manufacturing date stamped on the inside. We took pictures showing the date - April 15th 1965. This confirms that both bumpers have not been replaced.

The paint is mostly original which is in remarkable good condition. There are a few small imperfections and dings but overall in truly fantastic shape.

Windshield has a small stone chip in it.

The original interior is in near new condition and including door panels, headliner and carpet. The MB Tex seats look nearly unused even though these are the ones the car came with nearly 50 years ago. The center console armrest was an extra option and is in perfect shape as well.

The wood on the dashboard shows very fine with only some minor hairline cracks in the clear coat of the paint. On the vinyl covered top part of the dash is a small crack in the center, right by the speaker.

All gauges are working fine. Even the original VDO clock ticks and keeps the accurate time. The factory Becker Europa TR radio works fine.

Super nice original steering wheel is in great shape.

Even the rubber floor mats are still excellent.

Pedals also show almost no wear what confirms the low mileage.

After studying all of the hand written notes and receipts we found an invoice from January 10th 2010 stating that the engine underwent a major overhaul. New pistons, bearings, rings, valves were installed. The mileage was stated at 56,950, so barely any miles have been driven since.

We had the car inspected by a Mercedes expert. He was just baffled by the condition and originality of it. All wheel well areas and floors show no signs of rust or any kind of accidents. Just plain unmolested over all. Trunk floor is great with all the correct spot welds and sound dampening material still in place. Also rare to see are the original rubber trunk mats not only to be present but also to be in very good condition.

The spare seems to have the factory Firestone Phoenix tire still mounted on it. Jack and the original tool kit are included. The owners manuals and books are on hand.

The data card from Mercedes Benz of North America confirms that all numbers are correct including engine. Mr. Walker from Salt Lake City ordered the car new and we even found the original shipping papers.

This car not only looks great, she also is a pure pleasure to drive. Barely can you hear the engine burr, shifting smoothly thru the gears. The mileage just has to be original. She starts on the first turn with the engine cold or warm. I do hope you are able to inspect this car and will agree with us.
